Our AttorneysBruce A. LeinbackBruce A. Leinback has been practicing law for over 32 years. He worked his way through college and received his undergraduate degree in history from Florida State University in 1970. Following graduation, he accepted a commission as an officer in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. In 1973, Mr. Leinback returned to Tallahassee to attend law school. While there, he was a Notes and Comments Editor on the Law Review. He graduated from the FSU College of Law in 1976, and immediately went to work as an attorney with the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission, where his duties included serving as a hearing officer. Mr. Leinback subsequently went to work for the United States government in Central America as an attorney with the Panama Canal Company and the Canal Zone Government. His duties included serving as a legal advisor to the Canal Zone Police. After the Panama Canal Treaty became effective, he worked as an attorney for the Panama Canal Commission and also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. In addition, he was the chief negotiator for the U.S. government in collective bargaining negotiations with the various labor unions who represented employees at the Panama Canal. In 1983, Mr. Leinback returned to Florida and worked as an attorney in private practice in Pensacola. He returned to the Tallahassee area in 1985. Since then, he has had a wide-ranging civil practice in North Florida, representing clients in a variety of cases, from land use disputes to family law matters, including divorces, child custody, and modifications. Mr. Leinback’s clients include individuals, small businesses, and public entities. He is the City Attorney for the City of Monticello and the College Attorney for North Florida Community College in Madison. He is a member of the Florida Bar and District of Columbia Bar, the American Bar Association and the Jefferson County Bar Association. Mr. Leinback is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and Treasurer of the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court in Tallahassee. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Florida State University College of Law. Mr. Leinback has been a resident of Jefferson County since 1985. He is Vice-President of the Jefferson County Historical Association and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Monticello Opera House. Mr. Leinback is also an active Rotarian, and he is Past President of the Tallahassee Northside Rotary Club. He attends Christ Episcopal Church in Monticello, where he is a member of the Vestry. Mr. Leinback and his wife, Linda, have a blended family with four children, the youngest of whom is attending Florida State University, and two grandchildren. In his spare time, Mr. Leinback enjoys FSU football, hunting, and other outdoor activities. |
